FAQs

  • Do you accept custom commissions?

Yes! I am currently able to take on custom commissions. If you’ve got something in mind, then please reach out using the ‘Contact’ page. I’ve a very creative brain so even if you only have the basics in mind, that’s enough to start with. The weird and the wacky aren’t off limits either, so if you’d rather an ass made of glass than a heartfelt family portrait, let me know!

  • If I like a shop piece, but don't like the colours, can I change them?

Absolutely! The pieces in my shop are mostly ready-made, with the exception of a few that will be made to order. If you’ve fallen in love with something I’ve made, but the colours aren’t your vibe, feel free to get in touch and we can discuss options to make sure your chosen artwork really reflects you.

  • How do you ship stained glass?

I send all of my stained glass pieces with Royal Mail tracked delivery. My packaging is mostly re-used materials from stock I’ve ordered (cardboard, bubble wrap, etc). 90% of my packaging can be recycled again, with the exception of the tape. Did you know that in some major supermarkets, you can now even recycle bubble wrap?

  • Is stained glass safe to handle?

Due to the fragility of glass, all pieces should be handled with care. I work with solder containing lead, which can be harmful if ingested. Wash your hands after touching the piece, especially before eating, drinking or smoking. Keep out of reach of kiddos and pets, these artworks aren’t toys.

Extra note: please don’t use flimsy little suction cups to hang your pieces, I’d hate to see them fall and break.

  • How do I clean stained glass safely, and will the colours fade?

To clean your stained glass piece, you can use warm water and washing-up liquid. Gently scrub with a soft brush/old toothbrush and be sure to fully dry afterwards. You can also polish your piece using furniture polish suitable for glass. The colours will not fade! Stained glass is coloured during its molten phase using metallic oxides & salts. As the colour is within the glass rather than just a coating, it will not fade.

  • Do you require a deposit for commissioned pieces?

Yes, I require a non-refundable deposit when placing a custom order, with the remainder to be paid upon completion of the piece. This ensures that I am at least covered for materials & my time should you change your mind once the piece is in production. The deposit price will vary depending on the overall cost, and this will be discussed per individual order.
